I’ve talked plenty about Last Wave Brewing. In my opinion, they’re one of the best brewers in the U.S. You heard me.
I’ve also talked plenty about my love of coconut porters, and how Last Wave has a great coconut porter called Right Coast.
Well, I’ve learned they also have a barrel-aged coconut porter! And crap it’s good. What does barrel-aged mean? It means, it was aged in a barrel somewhere. Bourbon probably, but I’ll find out.
Normally, I’m not a fan of these combinations. I like bourbon. I like beer. I tend not to like when they commingle. I never order a Maker’s Mark with a splash of Coors Original. This one torpedoed all preconceived notions I had.
If you’re in Point Pleasant, stop at Last Wave and try the Right Coast.
